Employee state insurance (ESI) is a scheme of financing and insurance to employees. ESIC registration is mandatory for every employer having 10 or more employees.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ESI REGISTRATION:
List of wages of employees in detail;
List of directors, partners, shareholders of company;
PAN card of business and address proof of organization;
Bank statements of organization as a proof of commencement of business;
Certificate of registration (MOA, AOA for private limited companies and partnership deed for LLP and partnership firm.)
A License obtained under factories act or shop and establishment act.
Other requirements as per business done by the organization.
Every Employee and Employer must contribute specified percentage to ESI, if the employees are earning 21000 or less per month as wages.
% of Employer contribution towards ESI-4.75%
% of Employee contribution towards ESI-1.75%
ESI is a scheme which gives medical benefits to employees and their families. Every Employer registered under ESI must file their ESI returns half –yearly. The due dates for filing ESI returns are 11th may and 11th November respectively. The contribution will be paid for employees into bank authorized by the corporation within 15 days of last day of month in which it is due for any wage period.
